A Business Chamber Built on Something Deeper
Kingdom Gate Chamber of Commerce was founded on a conviction that business and faith are not in tension — that the best businesses are built by people with a clear sense of purpose, a commitment to integrity, and a love for the community they serve.
Our faith identity is Christian in its roots. We draw our name, our verse, and our founding vision from Scripture — specifically from Colossians 3:23, the call to seek the welfare of the city. We believe that when business owners operate with that kind of heart, entire communities are transformed.
At the same time, we want to be honest: we are not a church. We are not a parachurch ministry. We are a chamber of commerce — a practical, on-the-ground business community — that happens to be organized around Kingdom values.

This verse is not a slogan for us. It is a mandate. It means that Kingdom Gate members don’t just build their own businesses — they invest in the flourishing of Howell, Brighton, Hartland, Pinckney, Fowlerville, and every community in Livingston County.
Five Values That Shape Everything We Do
God Is Sovereign Over Commerce
We believe every business operates under God’s authority, and that the marketplace is a legitimate arena for Kingdom work. Success is not a measure of God’s favor, but how we conduct business is a reflection of our character.
Work Is an Act of Worship
The quality, integrity, and care we bring to our work is itself an offering. Kingdom Gate members are called to excellence — not because it’s good for business (though it is), but because it honors the God who gives us work to do.
Community Is Sacred
The table matters. We believe that real business relationships are built in person, over food, in shared experience. Kingdom Gate’s commitment to monthly breakfasts and local gatherings reflects our conviction that community must be cultivated intentionally.
Generosity Is the Economy of the Kingdom
We give referrals freely. We share knowledge openly. We invest in each other’s success without keeping score. The Kingdom economy runs on abundance, not scarcity, and Kingdom Gate members model that in how they do business.
The City Is Our Assignment
We are not building a national brand. We are building Livingston County. Every connection made, every referral given, every event hosted is in service of the specific place God has put us. This is our city. We are seeking its welfare.
Faith-Rooted Doesn’t Mean Faith-Exclusive
Kingdom Gate is transparent about its Christian identity. We don’t hide it, soften it, or apologize for it. Our name comes from Scripture. Our gatherings begin with prayer. Our values are explicitly drawn from a biblical framework.
And yet: our doors are genuinely open. We have never believed that faith and welcome are in tension. Livingston County is a diverse community, and Kingdom Gate exists to serve it — all of it. You do not need to share our beliefs to benefit from our network, attend our events, or list your business in our directory.
What we ask is simple: that you come in a spirit of mutual respect. That you honor the community we’re building, even if you don’t share every conviction that built it. We think you’ll find that the values we operate by — integrity, generosity, genuine community — are good for everyone.
